Portland, OR: Jeremiah and Yana Wedding

I do apologize for my leave of absence and keeping everyone in suspense. We have had some major changes happen lately. I'm talking MAJOR. Firstly, we have moved to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah from our beloved little Idaho. We moved two weeks ago and as of Wednesday, there are no more moving boxes in our humble apartment. We are trying to sell our home in Rigby. We will still be making trips to Idaho, so don't hesitate to ask about portrait sessions if you live in Idaho and would like me to take your pictures. Secondly, we have been experiencing technical difficulties here at Tasha Poulsen Photography. They were big enough that it made it impossible to post. Thankfully, the technical issues have been resolved and I will be back to posting regularly.

Onto the happier moments! I had two weddings in Portland while I was there. This couple is Jeremiah and Yana. A couple who has worked very hard for what they have and waited for a little over a year for this very special day. I'm so glad they asked me to capture it!

We did a "First Look" set up. The First Look is when the groom sees his bride for the first time in here wedding gown. This was the evening before their wedding and the lighting was beautiful! Jeremiah was trying to be patient, but he was so excited to see his gorgeous Yana.

Here's that First Look! The look on Jeremiah's face was priceless.

I love this picture. Even at a distance you can see how much they love each other.

Prince Charming is so sweet!

I really enjoy candid shots of people because they are truly in their element. It also gives them time to relax and get comfortable.

I bet you can guess who Yana's looking at, because it certainly isn't me!

Absolutely Gorgeous!

Totally Handsome!

But so much better together!

Jeremiah was the sweetest groom!

And then he unexpectedly pulled this on me!

Their family and friends were so excited for them!

And just a few more shots of the happy couple, especially since Jeremiah was wearing a different suit. This suit was tailor-made in Russia for him. Did I mention that the lovely Yana is from Russia? Her family had it made for him.

This image probably has the most interesting story I've ever had happen at a wedding. As were taking their portraits, a little girl came up alongside me that I hadn't noticed as part of their wedding party. She was whimpering and I turned to ask if she was alright. She said she wanted a picture with them; a little confused, I asked if she knew Jeremiah and Yana. The girl replied, "No" but she still really wanted a picture. Turning to Jeremiah and Yana, I asked if they would be okay with it. Surprised, they were happy to fulfill the girl's request. It was the most humorous thing I experienced that entire weekend.

Thanks Jeremiah and Yana for letting my share in your special and long awaited wedding. You two are a beautiful couple, inside and out.  I know you will be very happy together.

Graham, WA: T 'n T Reception

Yeah, I've traveled all over the Northwest for their photo shoots huh? That's okay, it was an adventure and gave me time to edit other photos on the road. Warning! Lots and lots of photos! I couldn't choose because I had too many favorites! Anyhow, on to their ring ceremony and reception!

Ring exchange

Speeches were given by both the father of the bride and of the groom. The father of the groom had a poem he had written about the two of them and it was hilarious! Hence the look on Mr. T's face.

When the Father of the Bride gave his speech, it make Mrs. T cry and hold onto her new hysband that much tighter.

After the Father of the Bride speech

Some of the Bride's best friends sang a cute little song for the happy couple.

Of course we have to have bridal party pictures of the groom's family...

.....his groomsmen...

...her bridesmaids...
and her one bridesman.

The entire family of the bride and groom after they all started to dance to the DJ's music.

...the bride's family....

...and last but not least, her rascally little nieces hiding under her big poofy dress!

I thought this was a really cool idea that the Mother of the Bride made herself. The chandelier with a backdrop of the happy couple.

Pictures of the bride and groom growing up and ending with their engagement pictures.

Lets get this party started! I think the official first dance of the night, Mr. T and his adorable little niece.

The memorable Daddy-Daughter Dance.

And of course the first dance as a couple!

Guess who caught the bouquet? Yep, Mrs. T's oldest niece.

I can't remember what they were saying, but I do remember this was right before the garter toss. The looks on both of their faces are priceless!!! These are the kind of moments that remind me of why I love being a photographer.

There was a lot of line dancing that night for the friends of the couple.

Here are few different Daddy-Daughter Dances. Time will fly for them and it won't be long until they're doing something like this.

This is my favorite image of the night. I love these kind of moments. This is the sister and father of groom.

Proud Grandma with her adorable granddaughter.

Mr. T sang a song he made up on the spot to his lovely bride. His niece was absolutely enthralled with his uncle singing to her.

Lots more dancing!

I don't think I've ever had so much fun during a reception! You and your families are amazing!
