Salt Lake City, UT Photographer: My Family

So this is one of my favorite posts, and here's why. I get to share with you my pride and joy: my family. These guys mean the world to me and I would give anything to keep them happy. I hope you enjoy these portraits that depict the handsome guys in my life. And a picture or two of me.

This is Thing 1. He is my ideal little model and very comfortable in front of the camera. He sets himself up and I rarely have to make adjustments. He's in kindergarten and absolutely loves it!

This is Thing 2. He's very different from his big brother. He loves to be in front of the camera, but be silly and peek a boo or run. He's a busy body that I can't get to sit still unless he's asleep. He has great endurance, but when he gets tired, stay out of his way or put him to bed. You'll be glad you did either! Love this early bird!

This is when he decided to play peek a boo with me and his vest, I love his smile, because when he smiles, his eyes sparkle.

This is my handsome husband. I couldn't ask for any better, because if I did I wouldn't get anything.

Yours truly.

I loved this family's selection of clothes, but I that has a lot to do with the farmer's daughter in me! ;)

Family Photographer: Jack and Lauri's family

It was a chilly day when we took these family portraits, but still lots of fun. I love Thanksgiving, it's not the holiday to me. It's a great way to be reminded of the things that we have been blessed to have in our lives in the past, present and the future.

Lund, NV: Nicole's Family Photographer

My parents have moved to a very small (and semi-remote) location in Nevada within the last year. Because of my frequent trips, I've had the opportunity to get to know some families there and take their portraits. It's a beautiful valley and the town has character that photographers love.

It was a little chilly when we did these portraits, but still nice as far as early November weather goes. Nicole has two awesome kids, and we had a blast taking pictures. Thankfully they didn't think that I was boring so that was a bonus for me ;)

What gorgeous ladies in the house. Nicole's daughter is 5' 9" and 14 years old if I remember right, but all that I remember is that I had to look up to talk to her and I'm 5' 7"!

If this image isn't evidence of some of the fun we had, then I don't know what is.

I think that I may have fallen in love with the sunsets in Lund. Not only are they beautiful, but the light from them has wonderful effects on my portrait sessions.

Nicole is not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. She is so kind and fun loving.

Now being a guy, he tries not to smile, but have the time he ended up laughing when we were taking his portraits.

And this lovely lady decided to have us go through where all the branches and twigs were to get to the spot she wanted the most. I didn't end up with scratches, but she got a pretty big one by the end of her portraits.

 See? Fun!

One of my favorite images from the evening. Lovey lighting, background, and of course lovely family.

I can't say much about this image because it definitely explains itself.

Love it!!!

Thanks Nicole and kids for having me take your family portraits, there was never a dull moment.

Salt Lake City, UT: Todd and Brittany's Family Photographer

I hope your holidays were safe and enjoyed. I know I enjoyed them once I was able to settle down from all of our family trips. So now I'm excitedly back to posting all of those beautiful families portraits I took in the fall of last and pretty close to winter of last year. We're going to start with this family.

I met this family not long after I moved to Utah, and think very highly of the sweet Brittany who I had the opportunity to work with in a Church calling. She and Todd are wonderful people, and I feel fortunate to call them friends. Brittany had decided she wanted fall colors, and I knew of an awesome location just at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, called the Temple Quarry.

So we started with their oldest, who might I add was quite the ham and very comfortable in front of the camera.  I loved his spontaneity!

 He was quite the model.

And the goofball when he wanted to be.

I love this image of these two brothers. You could definitely tell how fond of each other they are.

And here's that fall foliage I promised. I'm so in love with these colors, that I might have to take my family up there for our portraits next year.

And here are the two wonderful people responsible for those three sweet and beautiful children.

I don't blame you if you just want to reach through the screen and just kiss his cute little cheeks, I know I had a hard time not doing so.  He started to get a little fussy, so...

Mommy knew exactly what to do to keep him happy, laughing, and cooing.

I felt as though I needed to go into stealth mode with little miss, I had to hide to try and capture her portrait. Let me tell you, she would not have it. I think that because I have boys, I'm much better with them, hopefully that will change.

Thanks for letting me take your family's portraits Brittany and Todd! I loved every minute of it!
