K's Senior Portraits

It's kind of funny the way young men (especially Senior guys) are chill about pictures. K wanted to take some Senior portraits in some fun places. He called me two weeks prior to his graduation, which happened on Wednesday night. That was the fastest turnaround time I've ever had. Pictures were taken on Thursday and then we then designed his announcement on Monday. Thankfully everything went smoothly.

K was an easy model to get to pose and seemed a little quiet at first. He is my sister's brother-in-law, so I've seen his true character a decent amount, so to see him quiet and almost shy was a bit of a change for me. But he finally was able to come out of his shell I think after our first setting, which was in a huge auditorium with a grand piano.

He's an impressive pianist, and playing is something that he truly enjoys.

After we were in the auditorium, he wanted to have the urban feeling in his portraits, not so much nature and such, so we headed into some of the local alleyways.

This is my favorite shot from the entire session.

I had a lot of fun with this one primarily because he definitely looks like a Senior. "I'm ready to be done" at least that's what I see and hear in this one. Yes, I have voices that talk to me while I'm looking at pictures, do you? ;)

He really wanted pictures in front of a red wall, and I knew of just the place. Yes, it's a barn with weeds and stuff, but it's right in the middle of town. Funny how there are buildings you thought you might have to travel forever for, but are four blocks from your current location.

K also wanted railroad tracks as part of his shoot, and the tracks were less than a block from the barn! How did we get so lucky? I dunno, but we had fun.

At last but not least, we saw some graffiti right by the railroad tracks, and thought we might try it out.

K must have a good eye. I love the red wall ones the best. :]
